神级广东话——教你巧用粤语里的“神”

Welcome back to another Cantonese lesson with Big Ha! Last time we spoke about scary ghosts, but today we are discussing something a little bit more holy-god-related people and things.

歡迎大家收看這期的的“小馬大哈”，今天大哈繼續和大家談談那些有趣的粵語俚語和俗語。上次我們談到粵語裏的“鬼”，而今天，我們就來談談“神”。

Welcome to the class, please pull up a seat and get your notebook ready! Make sure you write the word “san” down which means god in Cantonese.

敲黑板上課啦！首先中國人說的“神”，就是西方人理解中的上帝。

Did you know that in Cantonese, if you say someone has a “god belly” it means that they don’t eat much?

你知道嗎，如果說一個人有“神仙肚”，那就是說他不怎麽吃東西。

Keeping on the topic of food, “jau sik san” in Cantonese translates into “having the luck to eat delicious food”.

而“有食神”就是說一個人好幸運地吃到美食。

Another handy phrase to know is “gwo jat san” in Cantonese, meaning to “kill time”.

另一個用語“過日神”，就是說那個人在浪費時間啊！

These are all pretty positive meanings, but don’t worry, in today’s lesson we have a variety of phrases to teach you that mean a whole variety of things, like how to say you truly hate someone, how to say people change their minds all the time and even how to call someone weird.

但粵語裏“神”不單單是指積極的東西，有時我們說到消極的東西，也會用“神”去形容，比如形容一個人真的很討厭某樣東西，又或者說某人經常改變主意。想知道怎麽說嗎？在今天的粵語小課堂裏，我們將會帶大家，一起研究下粵語裏的“神”。
